The service
Scrubbr is a browser-based tool that removes metadata from PDFs and images and performs redaction, with a verification step that re-parses the output. The core features are free. A one-time $5 “Pro” unlock adds batch processing and PDF/A export. All processing happens in your browser.
Payments, license, and refunds
Pro is a one-time purchase of $5 (USD), processed by Stripe; applicable taxes are added at checkout. On successful payment you receive a license key that unlocks Pro features. The license is for your personal or internal business use; please do not publicly publish or resell your key.
Refunds: if Pro is not working for you or you are unsatisfied, email support@scrubbr.pro within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you. Where required by law, statutory refund rights also apply.
Verify your own redactions (important)
Scrubbr’s verification re-parses each output to confirm that the metadata you selected is gone and that text under your redaction boxes is not recoverable, and it is designed to be thorough. However, no tool can guarantee every possible recovery vector for every possible file. You are responsible for reviewing each output before sharing a sensitive document — confirm that the right areas are redacted and the result meets your needs. Scrubbr is provided as a tool to assist you, not as a guarantee of confidentiality.
Acceptable use
Use Scrubbr lawfully. Do not use it to alter documents for fraudulent or illegal purposes, and do not attempt to disrupt, reverse the billing of, or abuse the service.
No warranty
Scrubbr is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet every requirement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Black Hart Consulting will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) Scrubbr — including any disclosure of information you intended to redact. Our total liability for any claim relating to Scrubbr will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which for most users is $5 or $0).
Intellectual property
Scrubbr, its name, and its branding are owned by Black Hart Consulting. The files you process are entirely yours; we claim no rights to them and never receive them.
Changes
We may modify the service or these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Black Hart Consulting is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions? Email support@scrubbr.pro.
