PDF redaction for law firms, without the upload

Legal redaction has a famous failure mode: a black box drawn over text that leaves the words selectable underneath. It has leaked privileged names and settlement figures in real filings. Scrubbr flattens each marked page to an image so the text is physically removed, then re-extracts text from the output to prove nothing is recoverable. Nothing is uploaded, so privileged material never leaves the device.

The redaction that has to hold up

  • True removal: marked pages are rebuilt from a flattened raster, so the underlying text and vector objects are gone, not hidden.
  • Verification: the output is re-parsed and the text under your boxes is confirmed unrecoverable.
  • Proof certificate: export a PDF recording the file hash, timestamp, and verification result for the matter file.
  • No upload: privileged documents are processed entirely in the browser.

For the firm

The Business license covers commercial and team use across your firm and comes with an invoice for procurement. For environments that cannot use any external site, the self-hosted option runs Scrubbr on your own infrastructure, fully offline.

Frequently asked questions

Can opposing counsel recover what we redacted?

Not from the output Scrubbr produces. Redacted pages are flattened to images and re-checked so no selectable text remains under the boxes. You should still review each document before producing it.

Do documents leave our network?

No. There is no upload endpoint, and the self-hosted option runs entirely within your own infrastructure.
